Information about the arrest and
incarceration of Ugandan artist Fik Gaza in Saudi Arabia surfaced earlier this
week.
A video recording of the artist asking for help while in police custody went
viral on social media, confirming the reports.
Fik Gaza is heard in the film voicing his displeasure, saying, "I this
side, these guys this side are so intolerant." Please understand that we
are this side's sufferers.
Right now, it's unknown what led to his arrest.
Before his most recent arrest, Fik Gaza, a well-known musician in Uganda, had
to deal with difficulties.
There have been multiple
altercations between his camp and the camps of other artists since his 2023
breakout, which have resulted in reports of violent clashes.
The incident has caused worry among Ugandan and worldwide music community
members as well as followers of Fik Gaza.
Numerous Ugandan music organizations and independent artists have voiced their
concerns about Fik Gaza's confinement, prompting efforts to gain his release
and provide an explanation for his arrest.
It is requested that authorities in Saudi Arabia and Uganda take swift action
to resolve the issue and guarantee Fik Gaza's safety while upholding his rights
during this difficult period.
Many are anxiously awaiting updates
on Fik Gaza's condition and the outcome of the matter as events surrounding his
imprisonment in Saudi Arabia continue to unfold.
After singer Beenie Gunter in February, Fik Gaza is the second Ugandan artist
to be jailed and arrested in the Arab country.
