Azawi claims that Jazmine
typically holds off on project release.
Simply said, Lydia is having
issues. You write a song today, and when its sweetness is "expired,"
three or four years later, she releases it. During her appearance on Galaxy TV,
Azawi commented, "I don't know why she does it like that."
Asking Azawi to identify the
tunes, she responded, "I wrote them a long time ago, some I forgot,"
She co-wrote several songs
with Fik Fameica, including Omalawo and Binji, for Lydia Jazmine.
Before meeting Julius Kyazze
and Benon Mugumbya at Swangz Avenue, Azawi was a songwriter. They urged her to
transition to swinging.
She has also composed music
for Carol Nantongo and Eddy Kenzo before to meeting the co-founders of Swangz
Avenue.
Quinamino was her breakout
hit, and she has stated in interviews that she had originally wanted Winnie
Nwagi to sing it.
Although Azawi still writes
the majority of her songs, she has stated that she is no longer very involved
in writing songs for other musicians.
Lydia Jazmine might not be
purposely delaying project releases, though. She disclosed that the reason
behind the delay in releasing one of the three songs Mowzey Radio had composed
for her was her breakup with Producer Bushington, whose true name is George
Bush Kago. The reason she was able to release it at last was that she was in
negotiations to restart working with Bushington, even if they couldn't come to
an agreement on certain conditions. For Lydia Jazmine, Radio wrote Masuuka,
Nkubanja, and Gwokya Nga Omuliro.
