According to reports, the request to honor the late actress and singer Evelyn Nakabira as Evelyn Lagu was denied by the national theater.
Evelyn Lagu, a singer who had been fighting kidney and heart problems for years, passed away suddenly this morning, leaving the entertainment business in ruins.
As soon as Evelyn's passing was confirmed, a conference was called at her Bujuuko house under the direction of Sophie Gombya, Bbosa Sserunkuuma, and Mesach Semakula to plan the singer's burial.
The attendees of the conference decided that Evelyn's body should be left at the National Theatre for a night so that the singer's followers and fellow musicians may pay their respects.
The National Theatre's ambitions, however, have suffered a serious setback because the request was denied by the theater executive board for unspecified reasons.
Accordingly, Her body will remain at Bujuuko residence until tomorrow, when it will be moved to her ancestral burial site in Masaka, where she will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
