The Democratic Party of Uganda
headquarters, located on City House along Luwum Street, was completely
destroyed by fire this morning. The Uganda Police Force has begun investigating
the incident.
Around 8:30 a.m. this morning,
the building caught fire, and it's thought that a lot of business supplies were
destroyed.
The impacted building has
textile stores on the ground floor, office spaces on the third floor, and a
number of eateries and stationery stores on the first floor.
Although the number of casualties
and the amount of property lost have not yet been confirmed, the fire
department rushed to save lives and property. To find out what caused the fire,
the police have started their investigations.
