During the ceremonies for Pallaso, who was born on September 5, 1987, Chameleone made the surprise.
Chameleone, real name Joseph Mayanja, was born into an eight-child household, seven boys and one girl. At the age of 15, he left home to pursue a career in music.
He is the fourth child and is the son of Prossy Musoke and Gerald Mayanja.
Jose Chameleone, who was born on April 30, 1979, attended Mengo S.S. at Nakasero Primary School before being expelled in second grade to transfer to Kawempe Muslim S.S. to finish his O-Levels. He then transferred to Katikamu SDA before being expelled in fifth grade to finish sixth grade at Progressive S.S.
Since both his father and grandpa were multi-instrumentalists in Nsambya Boys Band while they were in school, the artistry of the Valu Valu hitmaker appears to have been inherited.
Humphrey, his older brother, had the Super World Band as his musical project.
Jose Chameleone began acting in plays while still a student at Nakasero Primary School. He also served as the entertainment prefect at both Kawempe Muslim and Katikamu SDA.
At Hills Studio in Nairobi, his debut single, Bageya, was published in 1999. Despite being performed in Luganda, it became popular in Kenya, and subsequently Mama Mia followed.
