When the two were interviewed
on Galaxy TV, Kent declared, "Navio is the biggest rap artist who has ever
been in East Africa."
Upon being asked if he thought
Navio was more successful than Kenyan rapper Khaligrah Jones on Galaxy TV's
Deep Talk, Mr. Henrie responded that Navio had more honors.
The controversial American
R&B artist R. Kelly led the music initiative One8 Hands Across the World,
in which Navio took part. He also mentioned that the Kora Awards, Channel O
Africa Music Awards, and MTV had recognized Navio's contribution. The greatest
artist to have ever lived, in Kent's opinion, is R. Kelly.
But among other things,
Khaligrah Jones was nominated for a 2020 BET Award and won the 2009 Channel O
Music Video Awards Emcee Africa.
