During his weekend performance
in Mbarara, musician David Lutaalo spoke out against hate speech and tribalism.
Since Bobi Wine has recently
been the target of tribalism claims from government officials, many saw this as
a direct criticism of him.
However, Lutaalo made it clear
that he doesn't have any problems with the Ugandan opposition. Additionally, he
clarified that since Bobi Wine and he are both musicians and share a message of
harmony, he is unable to criticize Bobi Wine.
The song I was performing was
one I wrote more than ten years ago. Therefore, I want each and every one of
you to know that I have nothing against the nation's Opposition. We actually
preach the same message of unity, in my opinion," he said.
Although Lutaalo stated that
he is not a politician, he respects them and their roles.
