When Bobi Wine unfollowed him
on social media during the tumultuous previous general election, Salvado claims
he was especially affected.
Salvado never imagined that
his friendship with the president of the Ghetto would end, not even after
endorsing President Museveni in the elections.
As a young singer in 1998, the
comedian claims to have known Bobi Wine. Through Bebe Cool, they then went on
to become close friends.
"Politics is a recent
development; we have been friends for a very long time. because's the reason it
hurt so much because he chose to regard me as a potential partner and ignored
our long friendship, the comedian said to Ruth Kalibbala in an interview.
"I was really hurt when
he even unfollowed me on Twitter,"
Salvado contrasted the NUP
boss with his other close friend Bebe Cool, saying that Bebe remained by his
side despite hostility.
I shall, therefore, cherish
Bebe Cool for the rest of my life. I cheered when he got pelted with bottles on
stage, someone once told him.
He was angry with me at first, but he was
looking for me on my show in the end. He threatened to beat me up, people
thought. He understood, though, after I sat down with him and gave my side of
the tale.
Sure, Bobi Wine, according to
Salvado, the NUP leader and his whole staff severed their relationship with him
the instant they saw him in photos with President Museveni.
Salvado ironically claims that
he only likes President Museveni as a person and has never backed the NRM
administration.
