Shy was born in Democratic Republic Of Congo (DRC) but grew up and raised in Bwera Kasese District though he relocated to Kampala.

Baby Shy was his first name before rebranding himself to SHY K.

2012 is when he started recording music and he got signed by Kaddo Fam owned by Gift Ov Kaddo a vocal artist.

He quit Kaddo fam and got signed to Ken Media Events in 2017.
